Matthew 1:1-19 – God’s Provision

My Bible’s intro to this book says that Matthew’s main point was to prove to the Jews that Jesus was their long-awaited Messiah.  So, Matthew opens with Jesus’ geneaology, which…

Matthew 3 & 4 – Who are you listening to?

In Matthew chapters 3 & 4, it’s interesting to note all of the “voices” we hear: The voice of John the Baptist crying in the wilderness, declaring the need for…

  • An Easter message for those who are doubting

    karenholmes / April 14, 2022

Questioning your faith, or allowing it to be questioned, is a much different experience at 40 years old than at 20. Recently, I had a conversation with two men, ages 19 and 26.…

  • Is hope like a drug?

    karenholmes / March 15, 2022

Hebrews 6:19 used to be one of my favorite verses. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. I always liked that image – hope as an anchor,…

  • What are you worshipping? (Or, “how to change your views on God”)

    karenholmes / February 9, 2022

I wrote this nearly a year ago, I think…? And, to be honest, the concept of “God” isn’t even really one I think about hardly at all anymore. But I came across this…

Welcome!

If you are looking for a non-judgmental place to discuss questions and issues of faith and personal growth, welcome! I’m so glad you’re here! This blog has been a space to explore my own faith journey from evangelical Christianity to where I am today, dancing in the mystery and getting familiar with and comfortable in the unknown. I had a mystical experience in 2019 that kicked me into a faith deconstruction which I later realized was a type of “awakening” that changed the trajectory of my life. No matter where YOU are in your faith or life experience, I am delighted that you’re here and would love to hear your story. Send me an email at karen@inspiredtofaith.com.
